South Texas Development Geologist
We are searching for a Geologist with a minimum of 5 years experience working on South Texas development projects preferably in the Lobo trend. My client is a small but fast growing independent located in downtown Houston. This position reports to the VP of Exploration in the downtown headquarters location. Presently there are 6 employees in the department all reporting to the VP. Salary up to $165,000 base plus a 30% bonus structure and substantial annual restricted stock grants that vest over 3 years. Relo also covered to include tax gross up at year end.

Established publicly traded E&P with operations based in Houston is seeking a Senior Geologist to help direct their multi rig effort in East Texas. Our client owns working interests in 139 active oil and gas wells located in 19 fields in three states throughout the US.
Responsibilities include:
- Detailed log correlation and petrophysical analysis of formations;
- Subsurface mapping capabilities including the ability to make structure maps, isopach, gross sand, net sand, net pay, and completion maps; necessary to document reservoir characteristics and book SEC reserves
- Construction of cross-sections to document lateral reservoir characteristics;
- Basic understanding of fracture stimulation technology;
- Working with engineering staff on the development of stacked reservoirs and completion intervals of wells within your project area;
- Perform field or reservoir studies in coordination with engineering staff;
- Keeping track of offset activity and any new technology within each prospective area;
- Coordinating with the land department to document and understand land situation and issues;
- Select new areas for leasing activity and project growth;
- Evaluation of new projects within designated area as to their economic chance of success;
- Presenting ideas and results to management using maps, logs, and spreadsheets. Providing management updated documentation and results in addition to development opportunities within each area.
